According to a 2012 IEEE article, the software industry has added numerous engineering jobs in 2011 and is likely to step up hiring in coming years. The article also quotes findings by the European Vacancy Monitor (EVM) indicating that software engineers were highest in demand in the UK and Bulgaria in the past year.
